Proper installation will ensure a smooth level surface for years to come. Appropriate design of the base materials and proper compaction are important items to consider for installation. Our installers easily perform re-leveling and repair work.

There are a couple of different materials commonly used to build retaining walls. Pressure treated lumber in 4x4, 4x6, and 6x6 sizes are frequently used. The segmental block walls, Allan Block™ and Pisa II, are popular choices. Our experienced staff have built both types of walls for residential homeowners and commercial properties.

G & J has experienced installers for topsoil and sod, for large or small areas. We have sodded numerous new houses and are familiar with the City of Edmonton grading guidelines. For small areas, we use one-yard rolls or half-yard slabs, while on large jobs we use 40-yard rolls placed with a bobcat. We use locally grown sod that consists of Kentucky Bluegrass and Red Fescue.

We seed large and small areas. Seed is available in a variety of different mixes and is chosen depending on the customer's needs.

Quality trees and shrubs can dramatically improve the appearance of your home or property. We use locally grown hardy trees and shrubs from some of the best nurseries in the Edmonton area.

A beautiful landscape starts with a good design that has been put together according to your current and future needs. Our qualified staff have many years of experience landscaping in the Edmonton and surrounding area. A good design can save you thousands of dollars as it allows you or your contractor to efficiently plan construction and ensure the job is done correctly.

We remove both large and small trees. In the process the tree, stump and debris are removed from site. If the tree is not being replaced, the area is repaired using topsoil and either seed or sod.

Decorative rock and mulch can greatly enhance the look of a home or property. We use a variety of materials including washed rock, limestone, shale, bark chips, shredded cedar and lava rock. When combined with landscape fabric, these materials greatly reduce weed growth.

We perform a number of landscape renovations each year. Renovations range from simply planting a tree to excavation and removal of the entire landscape, designing a new yard and installing a new landscape.
